🇺🇸 Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend or a day off from work, it is a reminder that the freedoms we enjoy today came at a tremendous cost. Across generations, American heroes answered the call of duty knowing that service could require everything they had to give.

As we spend time with family and friends today, let us also take a moment to remember those who never made it home and the families who continue to carry that sacrifice every day.

From all of us at the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, we honor the fallen, remember their sacrifice, and remain forever grateful for their service.

During National Police Week, we want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to our incredible community and to all those near and far who have shown support to our office. From coffee and treats to snacks, meals, cards, and kind words, every gesture has meant so much to us. We truly appreciate everyone who has taken the time to recognize our deputies and staff this week. 💙

Most importantly, we want to recognize the amazing men and women of our office. Day in and day out, they serve this community with dedication, compassion, and professionalism. Whether they are answering calls in the middle of the night, helping someone on their worst day, working behind the scenes, or simply being there when needed most, they do an outstanding job, and we are incredibly thankful for each and every one of them.

We are proud of our team and blessed to serve such a supportive community. Thank you all for helping make this week so special. 🇺🇸🚔💙

🚨Deputies and Investigators with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a lewd and lascivious case involving a minor.

Through the investigation, Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Investigators were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Russell Horn. During the investigation, the suspect fled to Cordele, GA.

🚔 With the assistance of Miller County, the US Marshals, and the Georgia State Patrol, the suspect was successfully located and taken into custody.

Current charges include:
▪️ Lewd or Lascivious Conduct
▪️ Soliciting a Minor
▪️ Harmful Communication to a Minor

⚖️ Additional charges are pending.

We are extremely proud of the hard work, dedication, and persistence shown by our deputies and investigators throughout this case. Their commitment to protecting our community and protecting our children does not go unnoticed.

Thank you to all agencies involved for your teamwork and assistance in bringing this case to a safe resolution.

We are lifting the burn ban effective daylight, May 13. The conditions have improved with the rain and higher humidity. We will continue to monitor the draught conditions over the next several days in case conditions warrant reinstating the ban.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms in our community and especially the mothers who serve, support, and sacrifice every single day. 💙🌷

Today we celebrate the strength, love, patience, and dedication that mothers show both at home and in the workplace. From the moms working long hours behind the scenes, to those out on patrol, in dispatch, detention, administration, and every role in between, thank you for all that you do.

We also want to recognize the mothers who hold everything together for our deputies and staff while they serve our community. Your support never goes unnoticed.

💙🖤 As National Correctional Officer Week comes to an end, we want to take one more opportunity to recognize and thank our amazing detention staff for all they do every single day. 👏🏼👮🏼‍♂️👮🏽‍♀️

This week, we were honored to celebrate them with a fish fry and show just a small amount of appreciation for the hard work, dedication, and sacrifices they make daily. From the long hours to the constant demands of the job, our detention staff stays busy and continues to serve with professionalism and commitment. 💪🏼

We are beyond thankful for each and every one of you and all that you do for our Sheriff’s Office and community. Your hard work does not go unnoticed! 💙🇺🇸
