Today, Bristol Police officers had the opportunity to meet a group of Scottish football supporters who are staying in our community while attending FIFA World Cup matches at Gillette Stadium.

Our officers extended a sincere welcome to Bristol and took a quick photo with our international guests. It was a great opportunity to showcase the hospitality and community spirit that Bristol is known for.

We wish Scotland the best of luck in the tournament and hope all visiting fans enjoy their time in our beautiful town.

🇺🇸 Last evening, members of the Bristol Police Department proudly attended the Town of Bristol’s Flag Day Ceremony on the Town Common.

Thank you to our Honor Guard, led by Lt. Paul Medeiros, for representing the department with dignity and pride.

Flag Day was officially established in 1916 by President Woodrow Wilson and later recognized by Congress in 1949 as a national observance.

We are proud to introduce Millie, our new comfort dog, who will be working alongside School Resource Officer Rachael Gaffney.

Ptlw. Gaffney is a 15-year veteran of the Bristol Police Department and has been a tremendous addition to our schools this past year. Together, she and Millie will help provide comfort, support, and positive engagement for students and members of our community.

Please be advised that the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) will be lining the parade route overnight on Wednesday, June 3, and Thursday, June 4.

Parking restrictions will be in effect along the route from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM on both nights to allow crews to safely complete this work.

Motorists and residents are asked to use caution when traveling in the area and to observe all posted parking restrictions.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Today, officers from the Bristol Police Department proudly participated in the Special Olympics of Rhode Island Torch Run alongside our law enforcement partners from Portsmouth Police, Warren Police, Barrington Police, and East Providence Police.

We would also like to thank all of the elementary school students who came out to cheer us on as we ran through town. Your energy and encouragement meant a great deal to all of the participants!

A special shoutout goes to Ptlm. Adam Almeida, who completed the entire East Bay leg of the Torch Run — an incredible 15-mile run from the Bristol Police Station to the East Providence Police Station. Outstanding job representing our department and supporting such a great cause!
