Dear Bristol Warren Community,

As we return to school tomorrow following the recent record breaking snowfall, the safety of our students remains our foremost concern. We are collaborating closely with the Departments of Public Works (DPW) in both Bristol and Warren to clear roads and bus stop areas, aiming for the safest possible routes for our students.

We ask for your assistance with the following important reminders to ensure a smooth and safe morning:

Bus Stop Safety: If your child’s bus stop is still covered in snow, students should not stand in the roadway. When possible, students should wait at least 10 feet back from the road in a nearby, safe location where the bus driver can clearly see them.
Possible Adjusted Stops: Bus drivers may slightly adjust stop locations as needed to ensure students are picked up and dropped off in the safest possible areas.
Possible Delays: Please anticipate potential bus delays of approximately 10–15 minutes during morning pickup as drivers navigate the road and sidewalk conditions.
If you find that your child’s assigned bus stop is completely unsafe on Monday morning due to snow accumulation, please notify us immediately. We have created a temporary, dedicated email address for these specific snow-related concerns.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we manage these conditions together and work to keep all our students safe.

Dear BWRSD Community,

Due to the continuation of the cleanup from the snowstorm, all BWRSD schools will be closed on Friday, February 27, 2026, for a traditional snow day. There has been considerable progress made; however, there is still snow cleanup to be done to make it safe for our students to travel (bus/walking/dropoff) to school. We remain hopeful that we will open for in-person learning on Monday, March 2, 2026.

All COZ programs are also closed for Friday, February 27, 2026.

We appreciate your understanding in this matter. If anything changes with this plan, we will make sure to update families by Sunday, March 1, 2026.
