Did you know that Lyme disease often does not occur alone? When a person is bitten by a tick, the tick may carry not only Lyme disease, but also other co-infections. It is important for people to be aware of the various diseases ticks can transmit, as each one can cause different symptoms and health complications. The two most common are Babesia and Bartonella. Make sure to ask your doctor to test for co-infections and not just Lyme disease!
