Here you can find the latest information on departmental updates, important announcements and community-wide events. Bristol Township Police Department was founded in 1948 with a single police officer. This officer, Joseph Seader, simultaneously filled the roles of patrol officer and Police Chief until he was joined in the 1950's by three more sworn personnel. In 1952, as William Levitt began deve
loping the area of "Levittown", the department grew to employ 15 uniformed patrol officers with our first operational headquarters located at the historic Bolton Mansion. As the years passed, the Bristol Township Police Department expanded and prospered. By 1967, the department was now fully staffed with 30 uniformed personnel, possessed a full fleet of marked patrol vehicles, and re-located their base of operations to the new Bristol Township Municipal Building. Our humble beginning set the foundation for our department to excel and expand. Today, our current total of sworn personnel has more than doubled, our base of operations is advanced and modernized and our service and dedication to the community continues to grow stronger. We wish to give thanks to the community for their consistent support and compassion, and hope to provide the utmost level of police service for years to come.
