Just one week left to apply for a grant from the Women & Girls Fund!

In 2025, the Fund awarded a total of $59,150 to organizations working to improve the conditions and opportunities for local women and girls. Applications for the 2026 cycle are now available at www.mainstreetfoundation.org, and are due September 16. It will all culminate in an announcement of the recipients in the winter. If you work an organization that does gender-specific programming, please consider applying for a grant.

We are saddened to hear of Gloria Steinem’s recent passing at age 92. Steinem inspired generations of women to fight for equality locally, nationally, and globally. We honor her extraordinary efforts to advance the rights of all women and are proud to continue advancing the rights of women and girls in our communities through the Women & Girls Fund at Main Street Community Foundation. While celebrating our 25th anniversary this year, we have been loving looking back! For its 15th anniversary, the WGF launched "A Toast to Women," a pay-it-forward campaign to honor 1,000 special women who have made a positive impact on the lives of others.

Donations were made in honor or memory of women who have made a difference in the lives of others, and each donation “toasted” a mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend or relative; acknowledged the positive impact they have made; and supported our neighbors.

Right now, the WBDC's Ignite Grant Program is open, and this program is designed to help women-owned businesses grow. The deadline to apply is September 13: https://ctwbdc.org/ignite/
