Bristol Project Update
The INDOT project is progressing well. Driveways and sidewalks are being poured, and the barricade will be removed next week and replaced with barrels. Traffic will not be permitted to cross the new pavement. New driveways may be available on the south side of Main Street, but they will not yet be open for use. KeyBank will have improved access to its drive-through using part of the new street.
The next phase of the project will be at the intersection of Mottville Road and Vistula, which will require changes to construction traffic detours. We are still a few weeks away from making that change.

The new water tower tank is scheduled to begin rising on Monday morning at 8:30. The 1-million-gallon tank will be lifted to the top of the column, a process expected to take about three hours. Additional welding and construction will follow, and then the tank will be painted.

Wastewater Treatment Plant. Many changes have occurred at the wastewater treatment plant. The old buildings and the blue tank have been demolished, giving a clear view of the new SBR treatment facility. Construction of the new lab, office, and maintenance building will begin after several weeks of site preparation.

Wilhelm and Kauffman Farm Properties. Now that annexation is complete, the next step is rezoning. The Town Council has honored its commitment to neighboring property owners to meet with them before the rezoning application is filed. Adjacent property owners were recently given the opportunity to meet with the landowner’s engineering firm to review the site plan and rezoning application. The rezoning application will now be filed with the County Planning Department. The site plan and application packet will be available soon on the Town’s website under Public Notices. The Plan Commission public hearing is expected in July, but the date has not yet been set.

We are so blessed to have such amazing teachers in our community! Thank you for all the love, patience, encouragement, and hard work you pour into our students every single day. Bristol is truly a special place because of educators like you. We appreciate all that you do and are grateful for the way our community comes together to support and celebrate our teachers! 🏴‍☠️

This week, we were able to celebrate and spoil our amazing staff — especially our incredible teachers! While this year’s Teacher Appreciation Week may not have looked typical, one thing remains the same: how thankful we are for each and every one of them.

Every single day, our teachers pour their hearts into their classrooms and students. They give their time, energy, patience, and love to help every child learn, grow, and feel supported. They go above and beyond to make sure our Pirates know they are cared for and capable of success.

This school year has brought its share of challenges, but our teachers continue to show up each day with dedication, positivity, and compassion. Their impact reaches far beyond the classroom walls, and we are so grateful for all they do for our students, families, and school community.

Thank you, teachers, for all the ways you make Bristol such a special place to learn and grow. We appreciate you more than words can say! ❤️🏴‍☠️

We also want to send a big thank you to BCC Bristol Community Church, Waypoint Community Church, the town of Bristol Indiana, Bristol PTO, Bristol Student council, Elkhart Community Schools, and Elkhart Education Foundation for all of the meals, snacks, drinks, and goodies this week!
