On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, Mt. Hope Bridge traffic tie-ups may be greater than usual due to the use of special equipment on the span.

According to the RI Turnpike and Bridge Authority, at certain times throughout the day it may be necessary to briefly pause traffic across bridge to allow the equipment to maneuver on the span.

The exact timing of any brief pauses or longer-than-usual waits is unknown.

Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes throughout the day, rather than risk waiting in excessive traffic tie-ups.
