It’s inspiring to see the Connecticut Age Well Collaborative's anti-ageism campaign spread! The Collaborative – a CCC initiative – started the Every Age, Every Ability campaign as a statewide concept, then created local versions with Newtown and West Hartford. Now, Town of West Hartford, CT is off and running, continuing to grow the campaign as a grass roots effort.

Together, we’re making Connecticut a place where all of us can thrive – at every age.

CCC team members Mabel and Krista recently attended the annual LeadingAge Connecticut & Rhode Island conference, where this year’s theme, Changemakers, celebrated the bold ideas and passion that move aging services forward.

At our booth, attendees shared what being a changemaker means to them on an interactive write-on board—and the responses were inspiring!

When you’re thinking about ways to , don’t forget about sleep! Not long ago, CCC Care Manager Sara learned that 87-year-old Gladys was sleeping in her recliner because getting in and out of bed had become too difficult. After talking it over, Sara and Gladys agreed that a mattress with an adjustable base could make her more comfortable and ease her osteoporosis and neuropathy symptoms for a better night’s rest.

One way to this is by staying active – and May is a perfect time to get outside! Here in Connecticut, we’re lucky to have many accessible trails that make it possible for people of all abilities to walk, ride, jog, or roll in the great outdoors.

CCC’s initiative the Connecticut Age Well Collaborative has recognized several trails – like the Farmington Canal Linear Park and trails at the Barnes Nature Center and Lake McDonough – as local picks in their annual Age Well Across CT list. This resource is a treasure trove of community-nominated places and programs that help make Connecticut a great place to age well. Check it out at https://ctagewellcollaborative.org/acrossct/
