Our Story

Meetings: October - June. We enjoy our Summers off, and our “fiscal” year is October 1 - September 30. When: Our meetings are the 3rd Thursday of every month @ 12:00 p.m. (noon) Where: Cobblestone Creek in Brillion We honor the students of the month from the area schools, listen to a speaker pertaining to happenings in the area, and discuss club news and events.

Why should I pay to be a volunteer? The dues cost to join the Optimist Club is $100 a year. You are able to earn due money by volunteering. Every 5 hours worked will give you a $25 discount on your dues, up to $75 a year. The money for dues covers our insurance policy for the club, board insurance, event insurance, our website and updates, and administrative items such as stamps, envelopes, letterhead, and the club computer.

Our events: We host a variety of events. The Pizza Make in early February, The Electric Parade in June, The Walk Through Brillion in October, A School Supply Drive, and Tri Star Basketball skills competition in February. We also support all of our local schools, offer on $1,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior, sponsor a student at the Easter Seals Special Needs Camp for a week, donate to the Seven Habits Program at the schools, honor students each month, donate dictionaries to all 3rd graders in our area, sponsor an open swim day at the Brillion Community Center, sponsor the Art Awards at Brillion High School in June, and so much more!

What have we done so far? On top of all of the support for our youth year after year, we also fundraised and completed the disc golf course at Horn Park and the Indoor Splash Pad at the Brillion Community Center. At this time, we are currently fundraising for new musical play and ADA equipment at Horn Park.
