Hey everyone,

I wanted to give everyone an update on my life as it stands right now. I don’t care who knows anymore.
As of the 3rd of November I became a member of a class of people in this country that is probably one of the worst symptoms of the infection that is late stage capitalism, the homeless minimum wage worker, even though I make slightly higher than the minimum wage currently here in Michigan.

Like 53% of the sheltered homeless, and 40% of the unsheltered homeless in this country, I am a fully employed (40 hours a week) worker who makes more than his states minimum wage (Michigan is 12.48, I make 15.35 per hour) who cannot secure housing for himself near where he works, in the town that he loves, amongst the people he loves.

For those of you who followed my campaign for 2024 this is exactly what I was warning against, exactly what I hoped to fight against if I was elected. They say people fall through the cracks, but those cracks are getting wider and wider every day that we don’t demand better working conditions for EVERY worker.

I don’t want charity. I don’t want people to put themselves out for me. I’m good at surviving and I plan to continue doing that. We’re ALL struggling and I won’t have my struggle ladeled on top of someone else’s, but for f***s sake people, stand up and demand better.

We give our lives, our bodies, our minds and our souls to corporations and billionaires who rig the system to squeeze every penny from us. Is an hour of the only life you will ever lead REALLY worth that little. Think of the first hour of falling in love, the first hour of holding you child, think of every precious hour you’ve had. Would you sell those hours for 12$?

Then when s**t gets bad, we run to the church for the solace of blinders. Blinders that tell us the struggle is worth it, that nothing has value without it being hard to obtain. Meanwhile they tell us to give them even more of our money so they can get more people into heaven (while protecting abusers and pedophiles). But what all powerful God would put its children through all this pain? I, as a parent, would give every breath remaining in my life to save my children from pain, and yet God, a being of indescribable power, does nothing. If God has the power to help, and doesn’t, it’s calloused and evil, and if God CAN’T help us, he’s not the omnipoten God we thought he was.

Then after church we go home only to be reminded that our rent is going up, or electricity is getting more expensive, or we have to choose between medication that makes life bearable, or food to eat, because for SOME FU***NG REASON we think that things that are necessary for life should be sold for a profit. Sorry son, you’re just too fu***ng poor to qualify for existing.

So we look for help, only to find that the “hard work” fallacy reaches even their, as funding meant to help people like me gets pulled because some angry white man doesn’t want to be forgotten by history, so they take the money used to help the people and tells us we should be thankful for the opportunity to work EVEN harder. Because we’ve been sold the lie that HARD work is the same as FULFILLING work. Maybe for some, but not for most. Many are grinding it out hoping for a retirement that will never come, but we just keep telling ourselves those comforting lies.

I’m not asking for charity. It’s not your responsibility to save me from the system.

Here’s what I am asking for:

Fu***ng stand up

Politicians, corporations and the other systems that control our lives ignore us because we let them. Look around. If you’re not in my position, everyone reading this knows someone who is, and it’s not just me I’m sure.

We need to DEMAND change, and not just bitching online. Sit-ins for better pay, rent strikes for affordable housing, boycotts for lower prices. Direct, non violent action. Or else NOTHING will get done. A people who fear their government live in tyranny, a government that fears its people is a democracy.

And for f***s say STOP TREATING POLITICS LIKE A TEAM SPORT. The only team that needs to win is us, and if we keep choosing leaders based on what letter is next to their name and not what they do in office, things will NEVER get better. Politicians use ignorance and lack of time and energy to lie to get people vote for them and we need to change that. We need to seek out REAL information about candidates, and then we need to hold them accountable when they don’t do WHAT WE TELL THEM TO. They are our EMPLOYEES. Would any of your coworkers last long at your job if they committed such rank dereliction? No, probably not.

I know what you’re thinking, reading this. It’s EASY for me to say this, I have nothing left to lose. But looks around, look real close and you’ll see that you’re alot closer to having nothing left to lose than you think. For me it was my car registration falling on a day before my rent was due, starting a chain reaction of late bills and missed rent. What’s it for you? A medical emergency that keeps you from work so you can’t pay the bill? A blown transmission? A sick child?
Almost all of us are one or two unexpected bills away from losing everything.

The importance of voting the entire ballot cannot be underestimated. Democrats have made incredible progress in the past two years because of our slim majority.
But as this article points out, those gains hang by a thread. Many people running in state and local elections are running on undoing the progress that Democrats have made in equity, clean energy, workers rights, gun safety and more.

We cannot let MAGA roll back the movement we have made. Vote blue, vote moving forward instead of falling back.

We all know how important defeating Donald Trump is - but our rights are on the line all the way down our ballots.

Jan. 6th 2021 saw the Republican candidate for President send a violent mob to violently seize the seat of our government.

It started with a lie. A big lie. THE Big Lie. That our election had somehow been hijacked by the Democrats and somehow, with incredible precision, changed only the votes needed to elect Donald Trump.

People died over this lie. Lives have been absolutely ruined over this lie. And not just famous flame outs like Rudy Giuliani and Sydney Powell who all not only suffered public humiliation, monetary penalties but the loss of their law licenses as well.

Normal peoples live have been ruined over this lie. Families have been broken apart over this lie. People have been ruined financially all because they were convinced that this lie was true.

And even worse, with the unsealing of Jack Smith’s most reset filing, we KNOW Donald Trump knew he was lying to the people. He manipulated the emotions of some of the most vulnerable people in our country and used them as a weapon against democracy ON PURPOSE.

There is no light way to say this: Any man who is willing to resort to violence because he didn’t get his way, any man who is willing to grab at power with NO regard for who he tramples or how much collateral damage there is, any man who turns a blind eye to the GENUINE suffering of the people to spread conspiracy theories, should never again have his hands on the levers of power.

Election denialism is an insidious conspiracy that will always, on some level, culminate in violence. We saw that on Jan. 6th when the Republicans candidate for President tried to violently overthrow the government because he did not get his way.

Many of the Republicans candidates here on the state level are election denialists. People literally willing to toss aside your voice if they don’t like what you say.

We are in the final stretch of the race. Many people in Michigan already have their ballot. Some may have already submitted them. We cannot allow the influence of election denialists to remain in our government.

Think of the lives, careers and families ruined by this lie.

Vote blue. Vote for the sound of your voice, not to have it silenced.
