Last night our team at the District Attorney's Office represented us at the Creating Hope Through Action event hosted by the Adams County Health Department.

This is an important annual event during Su***de Prevention Month that is focused on mental health, wellness, hope and prevention.

Today the Adams County Board of Commissioners is proclaiming September as Su***de Prevention Month.

District Attorney Brian Mason is standing alongside the Adams County Sheriff’s Office and the Adams County Health Department in speaking in support of this effort.

Adams County Defendant Sentenced to Prison After Armed Assault and Dangerous Incident in Brighton

“Juan Cabrera’s violent actions put a child, a good Samaritan, and an entire neighborhood at risk,” said District Attorney Brian Mason. “This conviction and sentenced holds Mr. Cabrera accountable for his actions that day. I’m grateful to the individuals who stepped in to help and to the Brighton Police Department for their swift and thorough response.”

It was a busy month. We saw two significant cases reach a conclusion, and DA Mason had a chance to visit with one of our local police departments.

Thornton Youth Pastor Sentenced to 13 Years to Life in Prison Following S*x Assault on a Child Conviction

“This defendant abused his position as a youth pastor to exploit a child who trusted him,” said District Attorney Brian Mason.
