Earlier this week, Governor Jared Polis signed a new Colorado law that strengthens penalties for child human trafficking.

District Attorney Brian Mason and Human Trafficking Unit Deputy DAs Hannah Mandel‑Senft and Shannon Elwell played key roles in helping craft this legislation.

We’re also grateful to From Silenced to Saved for leading this effort and championing protections for vulnerable youth.

Our office remains committed to pursuing justice and supporting survivors.

Defendant Who Called in Bomb Threat to Adams County Courthouse to Avoid Sentencing Pleads Guilty; Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

“Threats of violence—whether real or implied—disrupt essential public services and put our community at risk. This sentence sends a clear message that such actions will be prosecuted and those who make them held accountable. Today, we welcomed our 2026 Intern Class to the District Attorney's Office. They will be scattered throughout the office in various units.

We're excited to have all 17 of them joining us this summer. We hope it's fruitful and enjoyable for all!
