💚 Woodland Wishes: A Day None of Us Will Ever Forget 💜
Some moments remind us just how powerful compassion can be.
Today, one of our Woodland Village residents, Bill, who is under the care of Devotion Hospice, had one wish on his heart — one more boat ride on his daughter Kim’s boat. Mobility can make that difficult, but love, teamwork, and a whole lot of heart made it happen.
Our Woodland Village bus brought Bill right to Kim and Dave’s home, where the lake was calm, the sun was warm, and his family was waiting. Thanks to careful planning and steady hands, Bill was able to be wheeled directly onto the boat in his wheelchair, safe, comfortable, and ready to enjoy the water just the way he hoped.
And of course… Billy Bear came along for the adventure too — sitting on his lap, soaking up the sunshine and sharing every moment. Seeing Bill holding his bear, smiling out at the lake, was something truly special.
With the incredible support of Devotion Hospice, Bill was surrounded with care every step of the way. Their nurse, Laura, joined us for the trip, and her husband was right there too, helping ensure every transfer was safe and steady.
And then… Bill got his wish.
A peaceful ride on the water.
Surrounded by family.
Wrapped in care.
Ending the day with a cold beer in his hand, Billy Bear in his lap, and a smile that said everything.
Thank you to Devotion Hospice for your unwavering support and presence.
Thank you to Kim and Dave for welcoming us with such warmth.
And thank you, Bill, for letting all of us be part of a moment that will stay with us for a long time.
💜These are the days that remind us what truly matters.💚
