‼️SCAM ALERT‼️

⚠️⚠️ SCAM ALERT: Fake "Mandatory Collection" Notices ⚠️⚠️

Utahns are reporting a new, aggressive scam involving fake "Court-Ordered" documents. These notices claim your traffic account is "delinquent" and threaten immediate license suspension.

The "Red Flags" in this image:

🚩 Fake Agency: It lists the "Department of Safety & Homeland Security." This department does not exist in Utah.

🚩 High Pressure: It uses words like "Irrevocable," "Non-Negotiable," and "Mandatory" to cause panic.

🚩 Extreme Threats: DPS does not collect fines for traffic violations, and real communication would always come from the courts.

What you should do: DPS is already tracking this surge. The best way you can help is to simply delete the notice and tell others about the scam.

FYI

Expect ✨weather✨ tomorrow (Wednesday, Feb. 18).

A strong cold front is moving through overnight and will hit northern Utah between 4–10 a.m. Wednesday, during the morning commute.

That means light to moderate road snow across much of the Wasatch Front, with heavy road snow in canyons and mountain routes statewide through late morning and early afternoon.

Southern Utah will see heavier snow between 7–11 a.m. as the front moves through.

Listen. We know it’s been a light winter, but let’s dust off that part of your brain that knows how to drive in the snow.

And if you need the refresher, remember:
- Give yourself extra time
- SLOW DOWN
- Increase your following distance
- Take public transit

Alright people. We can do this. We got this.

Please help spread the word about tomorrow. 🤝

Happy birthday 911!!! 🎉🎂🎉

Happy birthday 911!!! 🎉🎂🎉

💛Today is 911’s birthday.💛

And that means today is the birthday of a promise.
A promise that no matter how bad the moment gets…
someone will answer.

Every day, millions of people dial three numbers on what might be the worst day of their lives. They don’t call because things are going well. They call because they’re scared. Hurt. Lost. Angry. Panicking. Grieving. Sometimes they don’t even know what to say — just that they need help.

And on the other end?

A calm voice in the chaos.

A stranger who chooses, every shift, to sit in the storm with them.

911 isn’t just a system.
It’s people.

It’s the dispatcher who talks someone through CPR while their own hands are shaking. It’s the call taker who stays on the line when the screaming won’t stop. It’s the one who hears a goodbye they’ll never forget. It’s the one who carries voices home long after the headset comes off.

Today we celebrate a number everyone knows —
but few truly understand.

911 was built on the idea that no one should face their worst moment alone. And for decades, unseen heroes have kept that promise alive, call after call, shift after shift, holiday after holiday.

They miss dinners.
They work birthdays.
They answer while the rest of the world sleeps.
And they do it knowing the next ring could change everything.

So today isn’t just a birthday.

It’s a thank you.

To every dispatcher past and present…
for being the steady heartbeat behind the line.
For carrying the weight.
For showing up anyway.
For choosing to care in a job that asks everything of you.

Happy Birthday, 911.
And happy birthday to the voices who keep it alive.

We hear you. 💛💛

We understand there has been some confusion with the dispatch change for some agencies. Here is a map to hopefully help clarify and make it easier.

If the incident is occurring in TREMONTON, GARLAND, BRIGHAM or PERRY city limits which are highlighted in yellow on the map you will need to call Weber Dispatch at 801-395-8221.

Freeway areas still come to Box Elder Dispatch.

All other areas not mentioned still call the non emergency number for BOX ELDER DISPATCH 435-856-7023

If you are not sure where you live, zip codes do NOT mean city limits. Just because you have a Tremonton zip code does not mean you are in city limits. If you pay your utility bills to that city, fall under their mayor or city council, it's a good indicator if you are in city limits.

If all else fails and you are unsure you can always dial 911.
