🚔🐾 OH NO, SPARKY! 🐾🚔

It appears Sparky the Fire Dog has found himself in a little trouble with the Sheriff’s Department today!

The charges? Excessive tail wagging, unauthorized treat consumption, and being way too cute in public. And maybe a few too many creemees… 😄🍦

Luckily, the deputies have agreed to release him on one condition…

You have to come help bail him out at the Bridport Fire Department Father’s Day BBQ tomorrow starting at 11:00 AM!

Join us for great food, great company, and help get our favorite fire pup back where he belongs. 🐶🔥

Father’s Day weekend is almost here, and there’s still time to get your tickets for our Summer Basket Raffle! The winner will take home an awesome camping package valued at $600–$800.

What an amazing Memorial Day spent with our community! 🇺🇸🚒

The Bridport Fire Department was proud to attend both the Middlebury and Vergennes Memorial Day Parades today. Sparky the Fire Dog was a huge hit with kids and families all along the routes, and we were excited to show off our newly built “Wagon 1” for everyone to see!

A huge thank you to our incredible Ladies Auxiliary for walking the parade routes and handing out candy to all the smiling kids. It was a fun, enjoyable day honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice while spending time with such supportive communities.

Thank you to everyone who came out and cheered us on — we had a great time! ❤️🚒

Be part of the 2026 Bridport Day Float Parade on Saturday, June 20 at 11 a.m.! We’re inviting local businesses, organizations, groups, farms, and families to join the parade and help kick off a full day of Bridport Day festivities at the park featuring food, games, music, and fun until 5 p.m.

Family-friendly floats encouraged. Prize for Best Float.

With the current burn ban in effect in Bridport and all surrounding towns, we just want to remind everyone to take it seriously.

Conditions across Vermont have been dry, windy, and high risk for fire spread, and even a small spark can turn into something that gets out of control fast.

That means no brush burning, campfires, or burn barrels until conditions improve and officials lift the ban.

We know it’s that time of year where everyone wants to clean up yards and burn brush, but it’s not worth the risk to your property, your neighbors, or the crews that would have to respond.

Let’s all do our part to keep everyone safe:
• Hold off on any outdoor burning
• Be careful with equipment that can spark
• Report any fires immediately

Stay safe and let’s prevent the next wildfire before it starts. 🔥🚫

A big thank you to everyone who attended our Bruce Stocker Memorial Texas Hold’em series over the past few months. We truly appreciate each and every one of you who came out and made it such a great success.
