I'm saddened to say that we lost long-time resident and Chairman of the former Special Events Commission Carol Steinbach on September 3rd. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

Carol had a big heart. She graduated from Riverview Gardens High School and then attended Southwest Missouri State University (Missouri State), followed by a career in technical training.

Carol was very welcoming and thoroughly enjoyed organizing Bridgeton's Fourth of July parades, singing with a choir, helping with projects, gathering people and providing energy and laughter.

More than anything, Carol will be remembered for the way she loved people. Please keep her son Neal and his wife, daughter Laura and her husband, granddaughter Anne, and all of her family in your thoughts and prayers.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, at Arlington United Methodist Church, 3770 McKelvey Road, Bridgeton, MO 63044. Visitation begins at 12:30 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM with a reception to follow.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, honor the courage of our first responders, and reflect on the strength and unity shown by our nation.

We will never forget.
