PARKING / DROP-OFF REMINDER

***PRACTICE FIELD NORTH OF THE SCHOOL***

I’ve been asked by the coaching staff to remind all parents and visitors not to park, drop off, or pick up students in the bus lane during practices or games.

Vehicles in the bus lane are creating issues for our buses and preventing them from safely accessing the bus barn.

Please remember that the bus lane is located on school property, and vehicles parked there may be subject to towing at the vehicle owner’s expense.

All parking, student drop-offs, and pick-ups should take place in the north parking lot.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in keeping the bus lane clear and accessible.

Shout out to Frontier for everything they’ve done the last couple days. Everything is up and running! As stated in the previous post, the phone number is 618-945-4606. As of right now all calls are being forwarded to Dispatch. There’s a technical issue there, but it will be resolved tomorrow.

The Bridgeport Police Department has successfully transitioned to our new phone and internet service provider. This upgrade provides faster, more reliable communications while also reducing overall costs, allowing us to continue providing excellent service while being responsible with taxpayer dollars.

Our new non-emergency phone number will be active by 8/10/2026. Please save the below number:

While our new system is fully operational, we ask that the public continue using our original non-emergency phone number through next Monday as we complete the final phase of the transition. During this time, both phone numbers will remain active, ensuring no interruption in service.

This upgrade also strengthens our ability to serve as the backup 911 center, helping ensure reliable communications if the primary 911 system experiences an outage.

Reminder: If you call the Police Department after 5:00 PM, your call will automatically be forwarded to 911, ensuring assistance is always available when our office is closed.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding throughout this transition and thank you for your continued support of the Bridgeport Police Department.

The Bridgeport Police Department is in the process of transitioning to a new phone and internet service provider. This change will provide faster, more reliable communications while also reducing overall costs, allowing us to continue being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars.

As part of this transition, we will temporarily have two non-emergency phone numbers in service while we phase out our current number. We will announce when the old number is officially retired.

This upgrade also enhances our ability to continue to serve as the backup 911 center, ensuring we can provide fast, dependable communications if the primary 911 system experiences an outage.

Please remember: If you call the Police Department after 5:00 PM, your call will automatically be forwarded to Lawrence County E-911 so assistance remains available when our office is closed.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition. These improvements will help us provide better service to our community while saving money and strengthening our emergency communications capabilities.

🚨 SCAM ALERT 🚨

I just received a scam call from +1 (618) 220-4205.

The caller claimed I had a $7,000 credit card balance and tried to get me to engage. I completed a number trace, and the number appears to be associated with Scott Air Force Base. However, that does not necessarily mean the call came from the base. Scammers frequently spoof legitimate phone numbers to make calls appear trustworthy.

In my case, I simply replied “No,” and the caller immediately hung up.

⚠️ Don’t fall for it.
• Never provide personal or financial information to unsolicited callers.
• Don’t trust caller ID alone. It can be faked.
• If you’re concerned about your credit card account, hang up and call your bank using the number on the back of your card.

Please share this post to help warn others. Scammers only need one person to believe them. Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen.

Notice of Extension for Nuisance Abatement

It has come to my attention that the United States Postal Service experienced delays in delivering the most recent batch of nuisance letters that were mailed on June 30, 2026. Several property owners have advised that they did not receive their notices until July 11, 2026.

To ensure everyone has a fair opportunity to address the violations identified in their notice, the compliance deadline has been extended to Monday, July 20, 2026.

Tomorrow, Cops Cycling for Survivors will arrive in Vincennes as they continue their journey across Indiana to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. The cyclists will travel on U.S. 41 South before exiting at the Hart Street exit, where they will stop for lunch at the Vincennes Township Fire Department. Vincennes Township Fire Department.

As they pass through our community, we encourage everyone to take a moment to show their support. A simple wave, a flag, or a few moments spent cheering them on serves as a powerful reminder that the lives and sacrifices of our fallen officers will never be forgotten.

Each mile these riders pedal is dedicated to an officer who is no longer able to answer the call, and to the families, friends, and fellow officers who continue to carry their memory every day. Their journey is one of honor, remembrance, and unwavering commitment to ensuring that these heroes are never forgotten.

Our officers will assist with escorting the cyclists as they travel through our city, helping ensure they arrive safely while paying tribute to those who gave their lives in service to others.

We are incredibly proud of Officer Evan McGuire (Badge #240) for representing the Vincennes Police Department in this meaningful ride. His dedication to honoring our fallen heroes and supporting their surviving families embodies the true spirit of law enforcement.

To all of the riders, thank you for carrying the memories of our fallen with every mile. Vincennes is honored to welcome you, and we wish you a safe journey as you continue this remarkable mission.

On behalf of the Bridgeport Police Department, thank you for joining us as we recognize Independence Day.

Today, I’d like to read the Declaration of Independence, the document adopted on July 4, 1776, by the Second Continental Congress. It announced that the thirteen American colonies were no longer subject to British rule and declared themselves to be free and independent states. More than just announcing independence, it set forth the principles of liberty, equality, and the belief that all people possess certain unalienable rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Those ideals have continued to shape our nation for nearly 250 years.

The Declaration was written in the language of the 18th century, so you may hear pronunciations that aren’t part of our everyday vocabulary. If I happen to stumble over a word or mispronounce something, I appreciate your grace and understanding.

With that, I’d like to share the words that helped give birth to our nation: the Declaration of Independence.
