FIRE PREVENTION MONTH: DAILY TIP
Did you know that dust, cobwebs, and airborne particles can actually cause your smoke alarms to malfunction? 🧹💨
Over time, dust settles inside the alarm. Dust can desensitize the sensor so it doesn't detect smoke quickly enough, or it can trigger annoying false alarms in the middle of the night.

Keep your sensors clear:

• 🌬️ Vacuum gently: Use the soft brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner to clear dust from the side vents.
• 🧽 Wipe the exterior: Give the outer casing a quick wipe with a clean, dry microfiber cloth.
• ❌ No chemical sprays: Avoid spraying household cleaners or water directly onto or near the alarm.
Have you cleaned your alarms this year?

FIRE PREVENTION MONTH: DAILY TIP
How old are the batteries in your smoke alarms? 🔋👇

If you can't remember the last time you changed them, it’s time for an update. To keep your home protected, follow this rule for smoke alarm maintenance:

✔️ Standard Alarms: Swap out old batteries for fresh ones twice a year. A great way to remember is to change them when you change your clocks for Daylight Savings Time.
✔️ 10-Year Sealed Alarms: Upgrade to alarms with sealed lithium batteries. They provide continuous protection for a full decade with no battery changes required.

Don't wait for the annoying "low-battery chirp" to take action. Test your alarms today to ensure they are ready to protect the ones you love! 🚨

🔥 THE REPS MATTER. THE TRAINING MATTERS.

Two weeks of intensive live-fire training.

🔥 100+ live-fire evolutions
🪚 100+ roof-cutting operations
🚪 Hundreds of forcible-entry reps
🚒Countless hours of company operations

Why so many repetitions?

Because on the fireground, firefighters don't rise to the occasion they rely on their training, preparation, and muscle memory.

From full company operations to limited-manpower scenarios, single-firefighter hose stretches, alternative hose deployments, and realistic fireground challenges,
Class 05-26 is being trained to think, adapt, communicate, and perform under pressure.

This is more than completing drills.
It's building firefighters.

Repetition builds confidence.
Repetition builds efficiency.
Repetition builds readiness.

Smoke detectors don’t last forever! 🚨🗓️
As we continue Fire Prevention Month, today’s life-saving tip is simple: Check the expiration date on your smoke detectors.
Most people know to change the batteries, but many don't realize that the sensors inside the units break down over time.
Here is what you need to do today:

• Look at the back or side: Remove the smoke detector from the wall or ceiling and look at the manufacturer's label.
• Find the date: Locate the production date.
• Check the 10-year rule: If the production date is more than 10 years ago, the alarm must be replaced immediately.
• No date? If there is no date listed on the back of the unit, it is old and needs to be replaced right away.

Don't wait until an emergency to find out your alarms are expired. Take five minutes to check your home's detectors today!

FIRE PREVENTION MONTH: DAILY TIP

Do you know what your smoke alarm actually sounds like? More importantly, do your kids?

A smoke alarm’s loud, piercing beep is designed to wake you up, but it can be scary for children if they aren't used to it.

Take 2 minutes today to teach everyone in your household the sound of safety. Press the test button so they can hear the exact pattern. Make sure they know the rule: when you hear that sound, it’s time to get out! 🚨👇
