This past Monday, we gathered at Bridgeport Rescue Mission for a special ribbon ceremony in recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day. ๐
It was a morning of remembrance, but also one filled with hope.
We remembered the lives lost to addiction. We stood with families who've experienced unimaginable loss. And we celebrated those who made the courageous decision to keep going, to ask for help, choose recovery, and begin building a new life.
At Bridgeport Rescue Mission, we get to witness those moments every day. Recovery rarely happens in one dramatic moment. It happens through countless small decisions to hold on, try again, and believe that life can be different.
Yesterday was a beautiful reminder that behind every statistic is a person, a family, and a story that matters.
To everyone who joined us, stood with our residents, and continues to support this work, thank you for helping us create a community where hope is stronger than addiction. ๐
If you'd like to honor a loved one, come to our care center in September and ask for a ribbon at the front desk.
