Since 1903, the Connecticut State Police, a Division of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, has provided a full range of law enforcement services to the State of Connecticut. There are currently 11 troops located throughout the state with State Police Troopers providing the primary law enforcement services in 82 of the 169 municipalities in Connecticut. Additionally, the Connecticut State Police provides major crime, special criminal investigative units, emergency services, cause and origin fire investigations and traffic and truck enforcement to the entire state. Troop G is headquartered in the city of Bridgeport with the responsibility of covering 20 cities and towns in lower New Haven and Fairfield counties. The population within it’s territory accounts for approximately 30% of the entire State of Connecticut while only making up for 10% of Connecticut’s land area, which makes it the most densely populated area of the state. Connecticut State Police Troop G has the responsibility of patrolling the approximate 57.28 miles of I-95 from the Connecticut/New York State Line in Greenwich to the Town of Guilford. In addition to I-95 Troop G also patrols a large portion of Route 15 (Merritt Parkway) as well as portions of Route 7, Route 8, Route 25, I-91, and I-684. In total, Troop G is responsible for approximately 115 miles of highway, not including all the interchanges, exits and entrances. Additionally, Troop G provides Law Enforcement services to 6 court houses, the Bridgeport Correctional Center, and 14 full-service rest area facilities. There are numerous state buildings and properties throughout the 412 square mile Troop G area that Troopers respond to calls for service as well.

🚨 Narcotics Violation 🚨

On 2/24/2026 Troopers alongside with other law enforcement agencies were working a joint operation in the Southwest part of the Connecticut area in attempt to locate a 2024 blue Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness, which was believed to contain a large quantity of narcotics.

Law Enforcement officials located the vehicle traveling Northbound on Route 15 in the area of Greenwich. Troopers located the vehicle in the area of Exit 29 and were going to attempt to conduct a traffic stop. The Subaru Crosstrek abruptly got off Exit 30 into the town of Trumbull where it came to a stop.

During the investigation, troopers and other law enforcement officials conducted a traffic stop. In which time, large amounts of narcotics were located within the vehicle. The Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness was occupied by two, and both were taken into police custody. Both were processed and charged with C.G.S 21a-277(a(1A+ Possession with Intent to Sell Drugs / Narcotics, C.G.S; 21a-279(a)(1) Possession of a Controlled Substance. Both arrestees were assigned a $5,000 Cash/Surety, which they were able to post. Both Arrestees are scheduled to appear at GA-02, Bridgeport Superior Court, on 3/6/2026.

🎁 Annual Toy Drive πŸŽ…πŸΌ

On Sunday, December 7th, our Troopers collected toys from the Club Corvette of Connecticut, which will be distributed to local families this holiday season. Our Troopers also provided an es**rt from Dave McDermott Chevrolet in East Haven to Troop G. Thank you for collecting these toys for us to distribute!

We are currently seeking new toy donations until December 25th. All donations will directly support children in need to make their holidays brighter. Anyone wishing to drop off new unwrapped toys for children of all ages, may do so by dropping it off in the lobby at the following location:

🐎 Saddle Up 🐎

Thanks to Trooper Wang, Trooper Cardenas and Trooper Antonucci they were able to respond to a report of a horse near the highway in Stamford. The animal was located safely in the adjacent woods and re-united with its owner.

On Saturday, September 20th, Trooper Trudeau and K9 Hector competed in the 2025 .k9olympics

Trooper Trudeau and K9 Hector scored 15th place out of the other competitors. Although we did not win first place, it sure does seem like they both had a blast during the obstacle course! Amazing Teamwork!

🚨 Weapons Violation 🚨

On Sunday, September 14 2025 at approximately 0105 hours, Troopers conducted a motor vehicle stop on a black, 2014 BMW 528xi bearing a license plate cover and misuse Connecticut temporary registration 89110.

During an on scene investigation it was discovered that the operator who was in possession of a G***k 45 with a high capacity magazine, as well as suspected Ma*****na and Co***ne Paraphernalia packaged for sale.

The accused was placed in custody and charged with C.G.S; 53-202W Illegal Possession of a High Capacity Magazine, C.G.S; 29-38 Illegal Possession of a Weapon in a Motor Vehicle, C.G.S; 29-33 Illegal Transfer of a Pistol, C.G.S; 21a-277 (a(1A+ Possession with Intent to Sell Drugs / Narcotics, C.G.S; 21a-279(a)(1) Possession of a Controlled Substance, C.G.S; 21a-267(a) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, C.G.S; 14-147(c) Misuse of Registration, C.G.S; 14-213b Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Minimum Insurance, C.G.S; 14-12(a)* Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle, C.G.S; 14-18(c) Obstructed Registration, C.G.S; 14-99g(g) Operating a Motor Vehicle With Tinted Windows Without a Tint Inspection.

The accused was issued a set $50,000 cash/surety bond which he was unable to post and was transferred to Bridgeport Correctional Center. Hunter was scheduled to appear at Bridgeport Superior Court (GA02) on 09/15/2025 at 0900 hours.

🚨 Traffic Stop 🚨

On 08/25/2025 at approximately 2319 hours, Trooper Capoccitti #1417 from Troop G conducted a traffic stop Southbound Route 8 in the area of Exit 1B in the City of Bridgeport.

An on scene investigation, with Trooper Jacabacci #720 along with K-9 Gatti and Trooper Baker #912 revealed that the operator was in possession of approximately 17 lbs of Ma*****na.

The operator was subsequently arrested and charged in violation of C.G.S 21a-277(b(2A* Possession with intent to distribute, C.G.S 14-215 Operating a Motor Vehicle under Suspension and C.G.S 14-219(c)(1) Speeding. The accused was processed according to State Police Policy and procedure. The accused was assigned a $20,000 Cash/Surety, which he was able to post. The accused is scheduled to appear at GA-02, Bridgeport Superior Court, on 09/30/2025.

πŸš“ Touch-A-Truck Event πŸš’

Today, our Community Trust Liaisons attended a Touch-A-Truck Event in Stamford, hosted by the Goddard School. During this event the children were given the opportunity to touch fire trucks, police cars, and a garbage truck.

The smiles on the children’s faces was priceless and our Troopers had a blast with them too!
