Grill safety
1. Grill Placement: Always set up the grill at least 10 feet away from your house, deck railings, and any overhanging branches.
2. Propane or Charcoal
Safety: Check propane tanks for leaks and never leave a lit grill unattended.
3. Fire Extinguisher Readiness: Keep a fire extinguisher or a bucket of water nearby when grilling, just in case.

Burn permits will be issued starting this morning 4/27. To obtain a burn permit you must go through the Sheriff's Office, call the Sheriff's Office prior to burning to make sure conditions are right to burn for that day, burning is only allowed from dawn to dusk, make sure you have a water source readily available while burning.

Regarding the budget increase for RFD #1. The levey has not been increased in 15 plus years. What is being purposed is to increase the budget by $261,606.60. What this means is a raise of .065% in property taxes. Which comes out to be aprox. 6 1/5 cents per $100. The increase in funds will go toward upkeep and maintaince on trucks, get new equipment and help support ALS. Thank you for your support.

Bridgeport Fire sent 1, type 6 truck with 2 personnel this morning to help on the Whitman fire. They are staying in Ogallala tonight to get rested up as they are being relocated to help on the Arthur Complex fire come morning.
