Over the weekend Brick Twp. EMS/Rescue presented our very first Rescue Taskforce Operations Course. The course was developed and presented by members of our Tactical EMS Unit.

First responders from all different disciplines attended and engaged in a mix of classroom, tabletop and hands-on training. Our course is designed to bring to practice the functions of a RTF in an active threat event with the goal of having police, fire, EMS and dispatch working seamlessly based on nationally recognized standards.

Response to the active threat requires much more than a single weekend training to prepare... It takes countless hours of interagency/interdisciplinary cooperation, communication and training to become proficient and ultimately save the most lives when it matters the most.

We hope everyone took something away from the training and we look forward to building from this first class to make it better each and every time its presented. The June class should be a good one and if things pan out another will be planned for the fall. Great job everyone!

Tomorrow, April 26, 2026, Brick Twp. EMS/Rescue will be hosting day 2 of our Rescue Task Force Operations Course. The afternoon session will be all hands on and will take place at the Warren Wolf School. There will be several emergency vehicles and personnel operating as we conduct scenarios. Please do not be alarmed by our presence and stay clear of the training for responder safety. Thank you.

The Brick Twp. EMS/Rescue newly formed Honor Guard sent 3 of its 6 members to a 5 day intensive training program. All 3 members successfully graduated last night from the National Honor Guard Academy Class 2026-4. Senior EMT Ryan Trapp, EMT Brenda Jones & EMT Michele Grady. These 3 individuals represented our agency with pride and honor as they put everything they had into moving our Honor Guard program forward. EMT Jones was selected to speak on behalf of Class 2026-4 “XX Dos Equis”. Acting Chief Tim Cranmer was fortunate enough to be able to make the drive out to Pennsylvania and attend the graduation ceremony along with member’s families. Congratulations all. Serve with pride.

Brick Twp. EMS/Rescue is accepting applications for Part-time EMT. We are a progressive and unique BLS agency running nearly 12,000 calls per year. We strongly believe in constant training, community outreach and providing additional rescue services hand in hand with the other emergency services disciplines in town. Brick Twp. EMS/Rescue will be performing child passenger safety checks Tuesday April 14, 2026 from 3pm to 7pm at EMS Staion 3 at 500 Aurora Pl. Follow the signs when you arrive to park. Whether you are a new or seasoned parent, grandparent or care giver to a young child/infant, stop by and let one of our certified CPS Technicians give you peace of mind that your child is safe. Our technicians will assist with installation as well as give you guidance based on the latest research and child passenger laws. Please see the flyer for further information.

It’s National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. April 12-18, 2026 is a time to celebrate and thank telecommunications personnel across the nation who serve our communities, citizens, and public safety personnel 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In Brick Township, the dedicated men and women of the Brick Township Police Department Telecommunications Division are the voice of calm in an emergency, the lifeline for responders in the field. Today Brick EMS/Rescue Special Operations Division conducted training in wide area search and the rescue of a victim from an austere environment. SOD members and command staff were tasked with locating and rescuing a victim with the resources available, which in this instance did not include our ASAP unit. The mission was carried out successfully and SOD members demonstrated great team work and outside the box thinking. Good job all!
