🇺🇸 Remembering and Honoring Our Heroes 🇺🇸

Today, the members of Ridge Road Volunteer Fire Department pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
We enjoy our freedoms, our safety, and our community because of their selflessness and courage. As we spend time with family and friends today, let us never forget the true meaning of this day.
To all our fallen military heroes: your bravery will always be remembered, and your legacy will never be forgotten.
Have a safe and blessed Memorial Day.

I am probably about to hurt some people's feelings. Over the last couple of days people have complained about numerous things at Ridge Road VFD and the election polls. Yes we had a lot of things in the building due to getting ready for our 2nd yard sale to raise money for the department. We send letters out every year in the mail in attempt to raise donations. We receive $100 for the day the department is used for voting. None of the voting equipment used requires WIFI and we DO NOT get any help for the service. We ask for help from all over and very seldom receive it. But no matter the nature of the call my department always answers the call. The FD's in Escambia County receive around between $23,000 and $24,000 a year from the county. Anyone that is on Southern Pine power can contact Southern Pine and donate on your power bill during the year and at the end of the year Southern Pine writes a check to the department in your area giving them the money. My department as well as several other in this county are trying to better things. Not only does it help you in the time of need. The better equipment also help you the citizens of the county with your insurance rates. It's kind of like voting if you don't vote don't fuss about the outcome. If you don't support your area fire department don't gripe about what's going on. We all need your help. Make words turn into actions.
Thank you for your time and as always we will be there in your time of need.

Stay safe
Chief Hallford

On May 4th, we observe International Firefighters’ Day (IFFD). This is a day to recognize and honor the incredible men and women who run toward the danger to ensure that their communities and environment are as safe as possible.💙❤️👨‍🚒🚒

To firefighters everywhere: We see you, we appreciate you, and we honor you

The Red & Blue Ribbon: ❤️💙 You might see people wearing a simple ribbon today. The Red represents the element of fire, while the Blue represents the water used to defeat it. Together, they signify the balance of the profession.

✨️✨️Celebrating the Voices Behind the Radio✨️✨️
National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week is all about honoring the "invisible first responders" who act as the vital link between our community and the help they need.
When an emergency call comes in, these dedicated professionals are the calm voice in the storm, ensuring our firefighters at Ridge Road Volunteer Fire Department get the right information to respond quickly and safely.
✨️✨️Why We Say Thank You✨️✨️
They are the first link in the chain of survival.
They provide life-saving instructions over the phone before help arrives.
They keep our firefighters safe by monitoring radio traffic and managing resources.
To our dispatchers and telecommunicators: Thank you for your service, your steady nerves, and for always being on the other end of the line.
