This week, members of the Brewster Fire Department’s visited the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center.

Each off‑going shift toured the facility and participated in discussions and presentations led by Director David Zach and Assistant Director Jon Drew. These sessions provided valuable insight into the critical role the Communication Center plays in answering 911 calls and coordinating fire department responses across Cape Cod, including dispatching fire and EMS services right here in Brewster.

For many of our staff members, this was the first time meeting the dispatchers behind the familiar voices we rely on every day. The visits helped both agencies better understand each other’s needs and challenges, strengthening communication and improving how we work together during emergencies.

We deeply appreciate the cooperation, outstanding service, and strong partnership we share with the Sheriff’s Office Communication Center’s staff. Their professionalism and dedication play a vital role in supporting our mission to provide high‑quality fire and EMS services to the residents and visitors of the Town of Brewster.

Our thanks to the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office Communications Center Staff for all that they do for our community!

A reminder to all residents and visitors: Please call 911 if you are experiencing an emergency. Your call will be answered by the dedicated professionals at this center who work closely with us to ensure you receive the help that you need.

Over the course of two days, we had the pleasure of visiting the Brewster Recreation Program at the seacamps to spend some time with the kids and talk about fire safety!

We covered some important topics, including:
- How and when to call 911
- Why it’s important to Stay Low and Go
- What our firefighters wear and how our gear helps keep us safe

We love opportunities like this to connect with our community and, most importantly, help teach our youngest members what to do in an emergency.

A huge thank you to the Brewster Recreation Program for having us! We had a great time!
