We are excited to announce that the Brewster Police Department in conjunction with the Brewster Elk's Lodge will be hosting a Coat Drive this winter season.

As the cold weather is upon us, we are collecting new or gently used coats to help individuals and families in need within our community.

All sizes are appreciated, and every donation helps keep someone warm this winter season. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Thanks to all who helped locate this puppy's owner.

On Saturday, September 6th, 2025 from 10am to 3pm the Brewster Rotary will be holding their annual Brewster Fall Festival on Main Street in the Village. This is a free event that includes food & vendors, live music and family-friendly activities.

As a reminder, there will be no parking permitted on Main Street starting the day before the event (September 5th), to allow enough time for cars to be moved and for vendors to set up. Any vehicle parked on Main Street after 6am on September 6th will be towed. Sign's will also be posted at every meter as a reminder. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our department.

We look forward to celebrating with our community!

Chief Del Gardo and the men and woman of Brewster Police Department mourn the passing of Putnam County Sheriff Kevin McConville, who passed away early this morning.

Sheriff McConville was a loyal and dedicated leader whose commitment to his department and community was unwavering. He will be sorely missed.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and the members of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office during this difficult time.

On behalf of Chief Del Gardo and the Brewster Police Department, we would like extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends and Washingtonville Police Department, on the loss of Officer Jose A. Santiago. Jose was an off-duty police officer from Washingtonville Police Department, and also a retired NYPD officer, who was tragically killed after a car crossed into his lane while driving on Route 17 in Sullivan County Saturday night.

Santiago’s wife was seriously injured in the accident, but was listed in stable condition as of Sunday. She is in our prayers as she continues her recovery and navigates the days ahead.

Rest in peace Officer Santiago, your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten 💙
