COMMUNITY EVENT REMINDER: Neighbors Helping Heroes

The City of Brewer invites all community members to come together for a special event to support victims of the Robbins Lumber Mill explosion. This event is designed to raise funds for the affected families and show appreciation for our local first responders.

Thursday, June 25th starting at 6:00 PM (Family movie begins at 7:30 PM)
Brewer Auditorium, 318 Wilson Street, Brewer

Activities and Highlights
This is a night of family fun, community, and support featuring:
Food and refreshments
Face painting
Bounce houses
Touch-a-Truck with local fire houses
A family movie screening

Last night at 21:22hrs, D-Crew was called to Industrial Way in Orrington for a large industrial structure fire. On scene units were met with heavy fire conditions. Ladder 305 was used for water flow operations for the duration of the incident. D-Crew remained on scene for a total of 9 hours before being relieved by another crew, operations continued for an additional 10 hours, a total of 19 hours spent on scene by our members.

As of 0700hrs this morning, and after 25 years of dedicated service to the City of Brewer and the Brewer Fire Department, Firefighter Bill Reaviel is officially retiring. We would like to thank Bill for his many years of service, sacrifice and dedication to protecting our community and the communities that surround us.

Last night while you were sleeping, C-Crew responded to the 500 block of South Main St. for a reported building fire. First arriving units found heavy fire in the rear of the structure. Crews made an aggressive initial attack and knocked the fire down. Units remained on scene performing overhaul and searching for hot spots. No injuries have been reported at this time, cause of the fire remains under investigation.
