Join us Monday, June 8th, at 6:00 PM for the next event in our Maine Author Series.

Maine author Anne Britting Oleson will discuss her newest novel, Aventurine at Sea. In this fourth book in the Aventurine Morrow Thriller series, Aventurine investigates the disappearance of her brother-in-law, following a clue to Lisbon to uncover if he was lost at sea or if foul play was involved.

Anne Britting Oleson reads, write, teaches, travels, and bikes, to name only a few of her many hobbies. She attended the Stonecoast MFA program in 2002 and has published poems, short stories, book reviews, essays, and photographs, including two poetry chapbooks, The Church of Saint Materiana and The Beauty of It.

Register for Brewer Public Library's 2026 summer reading program, Plant a Seed, Read! Prizes, events, and a year-end party featuring a magic show! Newborns to high school seniors are eligible. Reading logs (available at the library or through email) or a list of books read must be turned in by July 27th to be eligible for prizes. You can also register in person at the library.

Join us tomorrow, June 1st, at 6:00 PM for the first event in our Maine Author Series.

Matt Cost will talk about the process of writing a book with emphasis on his latest, EveryThing vs Max Creed. He will talk about where ideas come from, the research process, the writing itself, and of course, editing. Cost will read a short excerpt from the book and field questions.

EveryThing vs Max Creed is a modern-day Robin Hood thriller where Creed and his band of people try to bring justice to those wronged by the ultra-wealthy in a world where the law overwhelmingly favors those with money and power. He is bound only by the laws of humanity and not those of the legal system. It’s a breathless thrill ride that will keep your heart pounding long after the last page is turned.

Matt Cost has now written six books in the Mainely Mystery series starting with “Mainely Power.” “EveryThing vs Max Creed” is the second book in the Modern-Day Chronicles of Max Creed. He lives in Brunswick, Maine, with his wife, Harper. There are four grown children and two dogs to help with editing.

The Brewer Public Library showcases a virtual author talk series each month featuring bestselling, award-winning, and highly acclaimed authors from around the world. The featured writers and thought leaders will cover a wide range of fiction and nonfiction genres.
