Even young children can participate with an assist from a grown up. Stop by the library starting today. Our goal is to have this completed and hung from the ceiling by July 4th.

Join us for a special collaboration with the Brentwood Historical Society to bring Renay Allen to the MEB Library to share her extensive knowledge about Jude Hall, a famous Black Revolutionary War Soldier from Exeter, NH. This is part of our 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution Series, funded by a grant from the New Hampshire Humanities
Jude Hall (c.1747 - 1827) of Exeter was a distinguished Black Revolutionary War soldier who earned the nickname "Old Rock" for his valor. His extraordinary service record spanning all eight years (1775-1783) makes him one of the longest serving soldiers of any race in the struggle for American freedom. Jude's story continues when he returns to Exeter, marries, and later faces more struggles for his family's freedom in the new nation. Hear updates on his family today, and the efforts underway across the region to provide a more accurate picture of this once obscured man, and others like him.
