Brentwood Middle School has been named a 2025-26 Project Lead The Way Distinguished School!

This honor is awarded to a select number of middle schools across the country for their commitment to increasing student access, engagement and achievement in hands-on, career-connected learning.

This marks the second time BMS has earned this distinction.

🎉 Wear Purple, Bring a Friend and Join the Fun! 🎉

Join us for an evening of food, friendship and Eagle pride as Brentwood hosts its spring “Tailgates, Teammates and School Spirit” event on Friday, May 8, from 3:30-6 p.m. at Brentwood High School’s Eagles Stadium.

The celebration features a varsity girls soccer matchup between Brentwood and Roosevelt at 4 p.m., along with a special Senior Night ceremony honoring the team’s Class of 2026 graduates.

Guests can enjoy free food and drinks from the Chartwells food truck while catching up with friends, meeting neighbors and cheering on the Eagles. Admission is free, and all community members are welcome. We ask that anyone under age 14 be accompanied by an adult.

We hope to see you there! Go Eagles!

ROAR! 🦴 Looking back at an EPIC adventure from earlier this April! 🦕💥

Our Brentwood 6th and 7th graders took an incredible academic dive into Science and Social Studies at the Mastodon State Historical Site! 🐘🏔️ It wasn’t just a field trip; it was a journey through time!

The crew split up to conquer two massive learning stations:

Station 1: Fossils & Ancient Hunters 🦴🎯
We explored the world of North American fossils and early humans. The highlight? Students got hands-on training with the Atlatl, practicing the same hunting techniques used thousands of years ago!

Station 2: Rocks, Ridges, & Records 🥾🌎
We dug deep into geology and how the landscape has shifted over eons. Then, we hiked down to the famous Bone Bed—the actual site where many of the museum's massive fossils were discovered! We also discussed how humans impact our environment today. 🌿♻️

To top it all off, we spent a beautiful afternoon soaking up the sun and enjoying the open fields and nature of the park! ☀️🏃‍♂️ It was the perfect blend of big science and big fun.

We are excited to announce that Andrew Gordon has been named Brentwood’s next Director of Athletics and Activities!

A current Brentwood teacher and coach, Andrew has already played an important role in growing our programs, expanding opportunities for students and building school spirit across our middle and high school.

“Andrew has been an integral part of the positive momentum we’ve seen in our athletics and activities programs this year,” said Dr. Amy Zielinski, superintendent of schools. “He is passionate about creating opportunities where students can connect, compete and take pride in representing Brentwood.”

With Andrew’s leadership, Brentwood will continue to create meaningful experiences where every student can find their passion, develop their strengths and feel a true sense of belonging!

Brentwood Middle School students, staff and volunteers rolled up their sleeves just before spring break to make a meaningful impact in our community.

Together, they assembled 24 dressers as part of a service-learning project benefiting Home Sweet Home, a local nonprofit that provides essential household furnishings to families in need. This hands-on experience reflects the school’s continued commitment to building character, empathy and strong community connections.

“We want our students to grow not only academically, but also as individuals who understand the importance of giving back,” said Dr. Doug Wehner, BMS principal. “Experiences like this help students see the difference they can make and inspire them to be thoughtful, engaged members of their community.”
