Located 55 miles east of San Francisco, the City of Brentwood is a charming and desirable community for residents and businesses alike. Incorporated in 1948, Brentwood is located in the far Eastern Contra Costa County region of the San Francisco Bay Area. mer months, area farms are brimming with agri-tourists seeking out the latest stone fruits, corn and cherries. The City's incorporated boundary currently totals 14.8 square miles (9,502 acres), with a sphere of influence totaling 17.4 square miles (11,129 acres). The City provides a full range of services including Police, Parks and Recreation, Public Works, Economic Development, Planning, Building, Code Enforcement, Engineering and Inspection, Housing, and General Administrative Services. The City of Brentwood receives fire protection services from the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District. The City operates public water and wastewater utilities, as well as providing refuse collection and disposal, and a recycling program.

Please be advised that southbound Second Street between Maple Street and Oak Street will be closed from June 23, 2026, through June 25, 2026, between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily to allow for pavement repair work.

Detour signs will be in place to safely route traffic around the work area. We encourage motorists to follow all posted detour routes and exercise caution when traveling near the construction zone.

Special parking access for Dino's Sandwich Shop customers will be maintained during the closure. Detour signs will direct Dino's customers from Maple Street to Helen Meyers Way and into the Dino's parking lot. This access is for Dino's customers only. Customers exiting the parking lot will be directed to use Helen Meyers Way to Maple Street.

For the safety of the public and construction crews, the traffic signal at the intersection of Second Street and Maple Street will be placed in flashing mode during work hours.

On Friday, June 19, 2026, certain Downtown Brentwood streets will be closed to vehicular traffic between 12 PM and 10 PM. The affected streets are as follows:
- Oak Street between Fourth Street and First Street
- Second Street between Oak Street and Maple Street

Please plan your travel accordingly to avoid any disruptions. Event attendees should refer to the parking lot map for available parking options.

Nightly Full closures continue tonight between the hours of 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM
For the safety of the motoring public and our crews Caltrans Construction has scheduled full closures for ongoing paving operations on State Route 4 (SR-4), spanning from Hillcrest Avenue to Byron Highway to apply the final layer of Rubberized Hot Mix Asphalt (RHMA). Full closures of SR-4 in both east and westbound directions will continue tonight Thursday, June 18, 2026, between Lonetree Way, and Walnut Boulevard from 8:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m., Friday, June 19, 2026,

As part of the City of Brentwoodโ€™s 2026 Pavement Management Program, pavement maintenance work will take place at multiple locations throughout the city. Work will include:
โ–ช๏ธ Partial road closures with at least one lane of traffic open in all directions
โ–ช๏ธ Full road closures with detour routes and signage to guide drivers safely through the area
โ–ช๏ธOvernight lane restrictions

Drivers are encouraged to slow down, use caution, and follow all posted construction and traffic control signs near work zones.

We thank residents and visitors for their patience as we complete these necessary improvements. Your cooperation helps us keep Brentwood moving safely and smoothly.
