Strong work by Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau officers who responded to a fast-moving fire in Ocean Beach on April 24.

The fire began in a shed on Bay Walk and quickly spread toward a nearby home, prompting a coordinated response with Ocean Beach Police and local fire departments. Marine units deployed onboard pumps and hoses to knock down the flames while Aviation officers assisted from above, identifying hot spots to prevent further spread.

Several officers were treated for smoke inhalation, but thankfully, no civilians were injured.

Our thoughts are with the officers who were treated and all those impacted by the fire.
