The Tactical Response Team (TRT) recently traveled to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to participate in the Alabama SWAT Team Challenge hosted by Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office Training Facility . This event brought together several teams from Alabama in an elite tactical competition and training event. Teams consisted of 4–6-man elements. Events included a trail run with shooting course, active threat scenario, live-fire house scenario, and an obstacle course run with shooting. Each event was scored and evaluated. TRT Team #2 finished in 2nd Place out of seven teams. Sergeant Castleberry won the pistol competition finishing ahead of over 30 competitors. TRT Officers also completed the Physical Fitness Qualification Test scored by National Tactical Officers Association officials. This event was a demanding team and individual challenge designed to test tactical skill, decision-making, and endurance. TRT Officers were honored to represent the department in this competition. Thanks to the host agency for putting on such a wonderful event.

We thoroughly enjoyed hosting our TAC Team Challenge competitors this past Saturday. We had 17 total competitors get a first-hand experience at one of the components our Tactical Officers must complete to be on our Tactical Response Team. Through this shared experienced, community members get an understanding of the dedication and commitment our officers display on a regular basis. The competitors were cheered on by friends and family. The environment was fantastic and one of the best we have ever had! Thank you to all the competitors who participated in the Challenge!

Want to experience it for yourself? The TAC Team Challenge is hosted each spring and is a free event for community members. We encourage you to sign up and participate next year.

The Brentwood Police Department is warning residents about an active phone scam happening right now.

Scammers are impersonating a Brentwood Police officer and contacting individuals by phone and text, claiming they are involved in an investigation and demanding money to avoid arrest. THIS IS A SCAM.

• Brentwood Police officers will NEVER call, text, or email you to demand payment.
• You will NEVER be asked to send money to avoid arrest.
• Legitimate law enforcement matters are handled in person, not through payment requests.

We have already received multiple reports, and more attempts are expected. If you receive one of these calls:

• Hang up immediately
• Do not provide personal information
• Do not send money
• Report the incident to Brentwood Police

Please help us spread the word to protect others in our community.
