Brentwood Police Officer's Benevolent Association

Brentwood Police Officer's Benevolent Association Benevolent - 1. Characterized by or expressing goodwill or kindly feelings. A group of the men and women of the Brentwood, NH Police Department.

On May 12, 2014, our agency lost an officer and a brother in the line of duty. Following that tragedy, we traveled to Washington, DC to honor his sacrifice by attending the ceremony which enshrined his name in the wall of the fallen. During the time leading up to that date, we raised funds through generous contributions and donations by the public for our officers to attend the ceremony. At that

time we established the Brentwood Police Officer's Benevolent Association. The Association started by adopting by-laws and electing "Officers". The idea was to form a group comprised of members of the Brentwood, NH Police Department that would come together and help other through charitable work and do good deeds for others. To date, we have held two softball tournaments with a portion of the proceeds going to the Officer Stephen Arkell Scholarship Fund, donated to families of fallen officers, sent grievance packages to families of injured officers, funded and aided in building a handicapped ramp for a disabled Brentwood resident and helped support the Brentwood Police K-9 program. We wish to continue our support for others and be benevolent. Characterized by or expressing goodwill or kindly feelings: a benevolent attitude; her benevolent smile. 2. Desiring to help others; charitable: gifts from several benevolent alumni. 3. Intended for benefits rather than profit: a benevolent institution.
