Rockingham County Sheriff's Office Mourns the Loss of K-9 Dundee
The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office is deeply saddened to announce the passing of K-9 Dundee following an unexpected medical emergency on June 12, 2026.
After experiencing a sudden medical crisis, Dundee was immediately transported to the Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Brentwood, New Hampshire, where despite the efforts of veterinary staff, he passed away.
K-9 Dundee served the citizens of Rockingham County with unwavering loyalty, dedication, and courage. Throughout his career, he was a trusted partner, a valued member of the Sheriff's Office family, and a source of pride for the entire agency. His contributions to public safety and his bond with his handler will not be forgotten.
"This is a heartbreaking loss for our Sheriff's Office," said Sheriff Charles Massahos. “ Dundee was more than a working dog—he was a partner, a protector, and a beloved member of our law enforcement family. Our thoughts are with his handler and all those who had the privilege of working alongside him."
The Sheriff's Office asks the community to keep Dundee's handler, family, and fellow deputies in their thoughts during this difficult time.
K-9 Dundee's faithful service and legacy will forever remain a part of the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office.
