NBK will support a three-day workshop from PACFLT called Total Sailor: Fit to Fight. This event facilitates face-to-face interactions with a team of subject matter experts. The goal is to discuss important resilience efforts while learning more about the quality of work and life along the waterfront and flight line. In addition to our Sailors and their families, please know that our civilian workforce is also very much welcomed to participate.

BE ADVISED: There will be an electrical outage with NO hot water or steam heat from 1500-1700 on 5/27/26 in the following buildings: 2800, 2000, 2001, 2013, 2014, 2050, 2100, 2101, 2102, 2150, 2200-2209, 2300-2309, 2501, 2600, 2650, 2700, 2720, 2750, 2900, 2901, 2902, 2903.

BE ADVISED:

Temporary roadway removal: SR 3 near Gorst scheduled to close June 13 for 16 days

Signed detours will help keep people moving around fish passage work.

GORST - A project to remove barriers to fish passage under State Route 3 South of Gorst is set to close the highway around the clock for 16 days.

From 7 a.m. Saturday, June 13, to 7 a.m. Monday, June 29, both directions of SR 3 will close near Sunnyslope Road Southwest. Signed detours will be provided for people who drive, walk, roll, or bike:

•Drivers will use Sunnyslope Road Southwest and Southwest Lake Flora Road.
• People who walk, roll or bike can use Northeast Old Belfair highway/West Belfair Valley Road.
• Commercial vehicles will be routed to SR 302 and SR 16.

The highway will remain open to residential and business travelers North and South of the closure, but no through traffic will be allowed.

NBK-BANGOR - SECURITY TRAINING EXERCISES MAY 19-28

Naval Base Kitsap harbor patrol security forces will conduct training in support of the installation's Training Assist Visit & exercise Citadel Protect. Training is scheduled along the NBK-Bangor waterfront from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 19 through Thursday, May 28.

Local residents and base personnel may see or hear training activity, which will include the use of military harbor patrol units with flashing lights and sirens, blank ammunition fire, and
Giant Voice (public address) announcements in the vicinity of the NBK-Bangor waterfront.

The Navy routinely conducts these types of security trainings, which ensure readiness and verify response procedures.
