Recently, Deputy Dustin Smith was attempting to apprehend a subject with outstanding Felony warrants when he fled on foot into the woods. Deputy Smith caught up with him, and he began fighting and resisting arrest. Deputy Smith gained control and placed the subject in handcuffs. During the scuffle, Deputy Smith’s body-worn camera had been knocked off his duty vest.

K-9 Tora was called to the rescue and performed an article search. K-9 Tora led the deputies directly to the body-worn camera, and it was located under leaves.

We are incredibly proud of K-9 Tora for her impressive assist during this case!
