Detective Patrick O’Keefe Promoted to Sergeant to Serve as Indiana State Police Bremen Post Investigative Squad Leader

MARSHALL COUNTY - Indiana State Police Superintendent Anthony Scott recently announced the promotion of Detective Patrick O’Keefe to the rank of Sergeant where he will serve as the Investigative Squad Leader at the Indiana State Police Bremen Post. In this role, Sgt. O’Keefe will supervise the detectives assigned to the Bremen Post. Sgt. O’Keefe earned this promotion through completion of written testing and a competitive interview process.
Sgt. O’Keefe grew up in Bremen where he graduated from Bremen High School in 2006. O’Keefe went on to attend Indiana University Bloomington and Indiana University South Bend where he graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice in 2010.
O’Keefe received his commission to the United States Army from the University of Notre Dame ROTC and served in the National Guard from 2005-2009 where he became Airborne Infantry. O’Keefe went on to become commissioned as an Officer in Aviation in 2010. He completed Army Flight School in 2013 before being deployed to the Middle East in 2015 where he served as a Platoon Leader in an Air Assault Company flying UH60 Blackhawks. O’Keefe was again deployed in April of 2020 where he served as Captain of an Assault Helicopter Company supporting combat and support operations in Iraq and Syria flying UH60M Blackhawk helicopters. He currently serves as a Staff Officer in the 38th Combat Aviation Brigade.
O’Keefe graduated from the 70th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in March of 2011 where he was assigned to the Bremen Post. O’Keefe had been assigned to patrol in Marshall and Elkhart Counties while at the Bremen Post. O’Keefe served as a detective to the Indiana State Police Toll Road Post from 2022 until this promotion.
O’Keefe lives in Elkhart County with his wife and two children.
