Several months ago I applied for a public safety grant through TCEnergy. TCEnergy operates the natural gas pipeline east of our town. The grant was for an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), six first aid kits with CPR masks and tourniquets. A kit was placed at the Recycle Center, Community Center and all vehicles/equipment operated by the town along with a Lifevac anti-choking device. The grant provided for the full purchase of these items at no cost to the town.
Gillett Ambulance Service will be at the Community Center on Wednesday June 10th at 6:30pm to give a presentation on Public Access AED, Layperson Hands Only CPR and stop the Bleed. AED’s are just about everywhere. This is a perfect opportunity to learn how to use one and also hands only CPR which could save a family members life or someone else.
