Today, we had the privilege of standing alongside Battalion Chief Skip Bergbauer’s family to celebrate a very special milestone, the graduation of his daughter, Nika.

Although Skip has been gone for five years, his impact, leadership, and friendship continue to be deeply felt throughout the fire service community. In his absence, members of Red, White & Blue Fire District and Local 4325 leadership, along with Chief Ryan Roberts of Front Range Fire Rescue and representatives from Summit Fire & EMS, were honored to stand in support of Nika and her family on this important day.

Nika, your dad would be incredibly proud of the person you’ve become and all that you’ve accomplished. Congratulations on your graduation and best wishes for the journey ahead as you attend Colorado State University to study zoology.

Neighbors helping neighbors. 🛠️🚒

When we realized a local resident was unable to leave his home due to stairs following a life-changing injury, Local 4325 stepped up.

Our Union funded the lumber, and our members spent their off-duty time building a custom ramp to restore his independence and access to the community.

Proud of Dan for leading the charge and our crew for making it happen.

Red, White & Blue Fire is proud to announce it has earned accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) for the third consecutive cycle, reaffirming its sustained commitment to excellence in emergency medical services.

CAAS accreditation is a comprehensive evaluation of an EMS agency’s clinical care, training, standards, partnerships, compliance, leadership, and management processes. Achieving accreditation for a third time reflects RWB Fire’s long-standing culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence.

In its official feedback, the CAAS accreditation team noted that RWB Fire ranks in the top five percent of all CAAS-accredited agencies nationwide, citing the organization’s commitment to the CAAS processes and exceptional providers as distinguishing strengths.

“Being recognized among the top five percent of CAAS agencies was an unexpected honor,” said Fire and EMS Chief Hoehn. “This distinction reflects the professionalism and dedication of our paramedics, EMTs, firefighters, and support staff who deliver exceptional care every day.”

RWB Fire’s continued CPSE accreditation further validates its commitment to strategic planning, community risk reduction, performance measurement, and organizational transparency. Holding both CAAS and CPSE accreditation places RWB Fire among an elite group of public safety agencies that strive to meet the highest benchmarks in both fire and EMS service delivery.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have such highly skilled and compassionate providers serving our community,” Division Chief of EMS Levi added. “We are equally fortunate to live in a community that strongly supports public safety. That partnership between our members and the residents we serve is what makes achievements like this possible.”

This holiday season, RWB Fire and Summit Fire & EMS began carrying whole blood, a major advancement in how trauma patients are treated before reaching the hospital. And since receiving our first supply on Christmas Eve, it has already been used to help save a life.

Only 1.3% of EMS organizations nationwide deliver whole blood in the field, placing Summit County among an elite group advancing pre-hospital trauma care. After months of coordination, planning, and specialized training, our crews are now equipped to provide this critical treatment, giving patients a better chance at survival and recovery from serious injury.
