Congratulations to Tiphane Newman, Telecommunicator of the Year!

From West Central Texas COG:
Breckenridge Police Department Communication Center, Telecommunicator of the Year.
“Tiphane Newman has been with Breckenridge Communication Center since July of 2024. She is dependable and always willing to help out. For a while, she was the only Telecommunicator that lived near the PD. So, she has been called in several times to assist when a major event is going on. Tiphane always finds a way and gets here when needed. We all enjoy working with Tiphane and hope she stays with us for the long haul! “

📞 National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week 📞

This week, we proudly recognize and celebrate the incredible men and women behind the headset—our local 911 dispatchers. These dedicated professionals are the calm voice on the other end of the line during some of life’s most stressful and critical moments.

When a resident calls 911, a telecommunicator immediately answers, gathers vital information, and quickly determines the nature of the emergency. While providing reassurance and clear instructions to the caller, they are simultaneously dispatching police, fire, or medical responders—ensuring help is on the way without delay. Their ability to stay calm, focused, and compassionate can make all the difference in an emergency.

Our dispatchers work around the clock, often behind the scenes, but their impact is felt throughout our community every single day. They are truly the first first responders.

Join us in thanking our local dispatch team for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to keeping our community safe. 💙🚓🚑🚒
