May is Lyme Disease Awareness Month! Lyme disease is the most common tickborne disease in the United States. Did you know that 1 in 3 adult blacklegged ticks in Minnesota are infected with the bacteria that causes Lyme disease? Ticks need to be attached for more than 24 hours before they can transmit it so the sooner you remove a tick, the lower your risk of getting sick! Learn how to remove a tick and prevent tick bites: https://www.health.state.mn.us/diseases/tickborne/prevention.html

Tick bite? Watch for symptoms for about a month:
• A bull’s-eye rash
• Fever/chills
• Headache
• Muscle and joint pain
• Fatigue
