The Brazoria Police Department received information from the Michigan Department of Corrections and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force regarding a subject wanted for a parole violation related to weapons charges. The subject, identified as Robert Jeffrey Hill, had been missing since January 16, 2023, and was believed to be in the City of Brazoria due to prior ties to the area.

Brazoria Police Department detectives began an investigation, conducting research and interviewing individuals in the area. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Hill was possibly staying at an abandoned residence. The search for Hill continued over several days.

On January 18, 2026, City of Brazoria Officer Veronica Saenz, with assistance from the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, located Hill. After a brief foot pursuit through the city, Hill was taken into custody without further incident. He was transported to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office Jail and booked for evading arrest. Hill will be extradited back to the State of Michigan to face the outstanding parole violation and weapons-related charges.

The Brazoria Police Department would like to commend all officers involved for their diligent investigative work and extend special thanks to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office for their quick response and professionalism in assisting with the apprehension of this fugitive.
