Today, we stand with the Metropolitan Police Department as they mourn the heartbreaking loss of one of their officers.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the officer’s family, friends, loved ones, and every member of the department during this incredibly difficult time. We honor the officer’s dedication, service, and sacrifice in protecting the community.

🚔 DUI Checkpoint – 05.22.26 🚔

Last Friday, the Brawley Police Department conducted a DUI/C Checkpoint focused on keeping impaired drivers off our streets and improving roadway safety throughout our community.

During the operation, officers contacted drivers, conducted enforcement actions, and educated the public on the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or cannabis. While cannabis may be legal for adults, driving while impaired by cannabis remains illegal and dangerous.

We would like to thank all officers, support staff, and assisting personnel who helped make this operation safe and successful.

Before heading out, always make a plan:
✔️ Designate a sober driver
✔️ Use a rideshare or taxi
✔️ Call a friend or family member
✔️ Never drive impaired

Together, we can continue working toward safer streets for everyone in Brawley. 🚓💙

Members of the Brawley Police Department recently had the opportunity to participate in mock interviews at Brawley Union High School for juniors and seniors enrolled in the Law Enforcement Career Technical Education class.

This event, organized through Imperial Valley Regional Occupational Program (IVROP), gave students valuable real-world interview experience to help prepare them for future careers and professional opportunities. From practicing communication skills to building confidence, the students showed great enthusiasm and professionalism throughout the day.

Our officers enjoyed meeting with the students, sharing advice, and helping guide the next generation toward success. Events like these are a great reminder of the importance of community partnerships and investing in our youth.

Thank you to IVROP, the staff, and all of the students who made this event both successful and fun!

The Brawley Police Department was proud to attend the Brawley Elementary School District’s Annual Parent Summit! 👮‍♂️📚

This event gave us the opportunity to connect with parents from schools across BESD, discuss the programs and resources available within our department, and share how we can continue working together to positively shape the future of our youth.

Building strong partnerships with families and schools is an important part of creating a safe, supportive, and successful community for the next generation. Thank you to BESD for the invitation and to all the parents who took the time to speak with us and engage in meaningful conversations.
