🐾 FOUND! A testament to the power of our K9 Teams. 🐾
Yesterday evening, the Vermont Warden Service K9 team was called to assist in a critical search for a missing juvenile in the town of Bridgewater.
The stakes were high—the juvenile was wearing camouflage and intentionally hiding from searchers. But Warden Lockerby and K9 Rezi were ready. Having recently been certified in wilderness air-scent search and rescue, Warden Lockerby deployed Rezi behind the residence. Within a short time, Rezi successfully located the juvenile.
This incredible outcome is a powerful reminder of why our K9 teams are so vital. When human eyes can’t see through the brush, these highly trained dogs use their extraordinary senses to bring loved ones home.
The VPCA sends a massive congratulations to Warden Lockerby and K9 Rezi for their hard work, dedication, and a job incredibly well done! 🐕‍🦺💚🚔

The phrase "Put the Vermonters ahead" may have originated during the Civil War, but due to Vermont's continued leadership and resilience, it still rings true today. We are thankful for the Vermonters that have chosen to support our state and country by joining the National Guard. That includes members of our own department, some of whom are involved in this deployment. We are looking forward to your safe return and the day our officers can be back on patrol!
