Happy back to school season! While you and your family prepare for the year, here's an important PSA:

While posting your child's first day of school picture might be a no-brainer, take a second to reconsider the information you're disclosing to social media. Information such as your child's grade, teacher, age, and other personal facts can end up in the hands of someone with harmful intentions, and you won't even know it. Pause to check if the background of your picture reveals any identifiable information, including landmarks and even your house.

To fully enjoy the momentous occasion of back to school, think twice and be smart about what you post of your child. Keep the specific, fun facts off social media and share them with family and friends instead. Enjoy back to school AND your child's safety and privacy!

Sincerely,
Brattleboro Police Department
