Yesterday, our Executive Director Chloe Learey spoke on a panel about housing as part of the UVM Leahy Institute Summer Internship Program Orientation Week. Together with Christine Hazzard of Brattleboro Housing Partnerships and Libby Bennett and Susan Lienau of Groundworks Collaborative, the panel discussed the challenges we face around housing in Windham County and highlighted the meaningful partnerships we've built in our community that work towards helping everyone thrive.

This panel of local leaders exemplifies the concept of a healthy housing continuum: people at all levels of income and need require support and options for stable housing. The Village at Winston Prouty is one part of a thriving Brattleboro, meeting the need for middle-income apartments targeted at workforce levels.

Children in our Elm Room are learning about emotions. Throughout the classroom there are laminated booklets hanging at toddler-level: some with images of children showing emotions, others with calming tools like breathing exercises or mindfulness activities. The children can use these booklets to help move through the moments when their emotions feel too big to handle. New emotions can be confusing or overwhelming, but with some tools, guidance, and a safe place to share, the Elm class kids are learning how to navigate their own internal worlds and connect with others.
