From celebrating one of Branson’s longtime community organizations to updates on public health and approval of development and cooperative agreements, here are a few highlights from this week’s Board of Aldermen meeting:
🌿 Shepherd of the Hills Garden Club Proclamation
Mayor Larry Milton proclaimed June 7–13, 2026, as Shepherd of the Hills Garden Club Week in Branson. The proclamation recognized the club’s service to the Branson area since 1954, including education, conservation, scholarships, Arbor Day support, the Bluebird Trail at Eiserman Park and continued care for the Veterans Memorial Garden.
🏥 Taney County Health Department Updates
Taney County Health Department Director Lisa Marshall presented highlights from the department’s 2025 annual report. The department highlighted its car seat education program, which saw a 64% increase in families served, and its QPR su***de prevention training, which has reached more than 1,500 people since 2022. Branson also had 877 facilities in the department’s inspection inventory, including lodging, food and pool facilities.
🏗️ Fountains of Fall Creek Development Agreement
The Board approved the first reading of Bill No. 6683, authorizing a development agreement with Fountains of Fall Creek, LLC. The agreement outlines responsibilities for public infrastructure improvements connected to the proposed development, including stormwater management, water infrastructure, sewer improvements and other development requirements such as a required berm and vegetation buffer.
🏙️ Historic Downtown CID Cooperative Agreement
The Board approved the second amended and restated cooperative agreement between the City of Branson and the Historic Downtown Branson Community Improvement District.
