The Branson Police Department is bringing back its Motorcycle Unit.

BPD has recently added three new motorcycles that will become part of the reestablished unit once the officers selected for the team complete the required training.

Motor units are a valuable tool for community policing, traffic enforcement, special events, parades, and helping officers navigate busy areas more efficiently during peak times in Branson.

And you’ll get a chance to see the new motorcycle tonight during the National Law Enforcement Week Lights Parade at the Branson Landing.

We are excited to see this unit return and look forward to sharing more as our officers complete training and the motorcycles officially hit the road.

🇺🇸 Flag Day Parade Route & Street Closures 🇺🇸

Branson is excited to celebrate the first Flag Day Parade tomorrow, Sunday, June 14, at 4:00 p.m. in Downtown Branson.

Please review the street closures and plan your route before heading downtown. The attached map shows the full parade route and road closures.

🔹 Street Closures: Commercial Street will be closed Sunday morning and will remain closed until the end of the event.

🔹 East and West Roads: Atlantic Street, Main Street, Pacific Street and College Street will remain open until 3:30 p.m.

🔹 Branson Landing Boulevard: Branson Landing Boulevard will close at 3:45 p.m.

🔹 Parade Float Entry: All parade floats should enter the Convention Center parking lot via Price Street.

🔹 Parking for Branson Landing: The parking lots by Belk and Bass Pro will stay open for business throughout the parade.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to keep parade participants, spectators and drivers safe. We hope you join us downtown for this patriotic celebration!

On the evening of June 9, the Branson Police Department responded to the 100 block of West Main Street after receiving a report of an armed individual who threatened other people.

When officers arrived on scene, the suspect fled on foot into the interior of a nearby business and refused repeated commands to surrender. Due to the situation, the Branson Police Department SWAT Team was activated.

Throughout the incident, officers remained focused on bringing the situation to a safe resolution. Despite the suspect’s refusal to comply, officers continued to use their training, communication and tactical resources to attempt to take the suspect into custody safely.

When officers made contact, the suspect lunged at officers and K9 Rico. K9 Rico engaged the suspect, separating him from the gun, and assisted SWAT Officers while the suspect continued to resist arrest. Officers were ultimately able to gain control of the suspect and take him into custody. The suspect was provided medical treatment for his injuries and was booked into the Taney County Jail on multiple charges, to include assault on the SWAT Officers and K9 Rico. No Officers or K9 Rico sustained serious injuries.

The Branson Police Department is proud of the work of our officers, SWAT Team and K9 Unit during this incident. We also thank the Taney County Sheriffs Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol for their professionalism, teamwork and assistance.

🚨 Traffic Alert 🚨

The westbound lane of Highway 76 in front of Enterprise is currently closed due to a traffic accident.

✅ The center turning lane remains open
✅ The eastbound lane remains open

Motorists traveling through the area should expect delays and use caution as first responders work at the scene.

Please slow down, stay alert, and give emergency personnel plenty of room to work safely.

We will provide updates as they become available.

Alexa, play “Back to School” but make it the police academy version!

Our three newest Branson Police Department trainees, Crawford, Buttke and Fletcher, have officially survived their first week at the Drury Law Enforcement Academy!

The next several months will be filled with early mornings, long days, hands-on training, classroom instruction and plenty of moments that will challenge them, strengthen them and prepare them for the badge.

But this journey is about more than becoming police officers. It’s about learning what it means to show up with integrity, serve with purpose and be someone our families, businesses, visitors and neighbors can count on.

When they graduate, they’ll return ready to serve, protect and make Branson proud.

Congratulations on week one, trainees. We’re proud of you already and excited to watch you grow into your future roles at BPD!

Today, Branson Police Department K9 Handler Officer Gamble was deputized by the Taney County Sheriffs Office as part of a continued partnership focused on keeping our community safe.

Through this joint effort, Officer Gamble and his K9 partner, Rico, will be able to work alongside the Taney County Sheriff’s Office, to include Deputy Shinn and his K9 partner Nico, to help locate and seize illegal drugs before they make their way further into our community. This collaboration gives our agencies another tool to support proactive policing, share resources, and strengthen the work already being done throughout Taney County.

Partnerships like this are an important part of public safety. By working together, we can better protect the people who live, work, and visit here while continuing to keep Branson a safe and welcoming place.

We are grateful for our partnership with the Taney County Sheriff’s Office and proud of Officer Gamble for representing the Branson Police Department in this important collaborative effort.
