We are grateful to the volunteers from Vox Church who spent part of their Saturday helping out in the gardens at Veterans Park!

This project was organized by Erin Lynes, with Paula and James Hill serving as site leaders. We appreciate everyone who came out and donated their time to help keep our parks looking great!

A huge thank you to the KeyBank team for spending the afternoon at Foote Park helping clean up our gardens as part of their annual Volunteer Day!

Employees from the Branford branch and surrounding area branches rolled up their sleeves to help keep Foote Park looking its best. We are incredibly grateful for their continued commitment to giving back to the Branford community year after year.

Branford Parks, Recreation, & Senior Services is happy to announce some new hires!

We are happy to announce Ricky DiRago as our new Program Supervisor! Ricky has been with our department for nearly three years now, previously as the Program Coordinator. He has over six total years working full time in the Parks & Recreation field with additional experience in the professional sport field & volunteers his time with the Branford Sports Hall of Fame and the Connecticut Recreation & Parks Association. He’s a big Philadelphia Eagles fan, so when you see him, tell him “Go Birds!”

We also welcome Joe Carbone as our new Program Coordinator! Joe has been a part of our department since he was 13 years old, starting as a CIT & then working various part time roles with some of our after school programs, special events, and even with our outdoor maintainence crew. Joe graduated from the University of Tampa in 2024 with a B.S in Sport Management. Not only is he a Parks and Rec professional, he also participates in Parks & Rec outside of work, playing in softball and hockey adult leagues.
