Happy EMS week! Prince Georges County Fire Fighters and paramedics provide EMS to our 912,000 citizens 365 days a year! In 2018, we responded to over 122,000 total EMS calls. Prince Georges County fire fighters staff a total of 39 ambulances, 23 paramedic units, 8 paramedic engines and 33 basic life support engines.

On Thursday May 9th, several Maryland affiliates of the International Association of Fire Fighters will host a Fire Ops 101 event at the Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute in College Park.

Maryland Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford, Prince George’s County Executive Angela D. Alsobrooks, Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski, Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley, and dozens of other Local and State elected leaders will spend the day as a Fire Fighter and Paramedic.

Be sure to tune in on Thursday and watch these elected leaders as they “Feel the Heat!”
