🎻 Cellist Emily Stromberg Baker has been with MSO since 2001.
Now in her 24th season, Emily shared one of her most memorable MSO moments: performing Mahler’s Fifth Symphony. “There’s a moment where everything just stops…silence. You could’ve heard a pin drop. The audience was holding their breath, waiting for what came next. That kind of magical moment—when you know they’re really listening—that’s what it’s all about.”
Emily enjoys performing in every series we offer. She loves the challenge and grandeur of Bravo concerts, the intimacy and connection of Chamber performances, and the familiar, feel-good fun of Pops.
“All our concerts are fun for different reasons. I don’t have a favorite—I love them all.”
